2023 Open Source Generative AI Survey Report

Download Report
With the explosion in generative AI, the Linux Foundation wanted to understand how the technology is being adopted at an organization level and the benefits and challenges of an open source solution in comparison to closed source. In partnership with LF AI & Data and Generative AI Commons, Linux Foundation Research fielded a survey to sample individuals on their familiarity with their organization’s adoption of generative AI.

Analyzing the findings from the survey, we found that generative AI is becoming a key component of current and future business for our respondents, with many preferring open over proprietary AI for its ease of integration and transparency. However, security of both types of solutions is an important constraint to adoption. Read our full analysis in the report!
